Common Ultrasound FAQs

Did You Know?

An ultrasound is the most accurate way to confirm if a pregnancy is developing normally. Research shows that up to 25% of pregnancies may not continue, and miscarriages may go unnoticed without an ultrasound.1 If a miscarriage is identified, follow-up medical care is essential.

  • Due to the high need for free ultrasounds in our communities, we require clients to validate their need with a positive pregnancy test first. We offer free pregnancy tests and can usually schedule your ultrasound on the same day.

  • Considering Abortion?

Your first step should be a pre-abortion appointment that includes an ultrasound.

    An ultrasound helps determine:

    • If your pregnancy is developing: This information is important in identifying which abortion method may be medically appropriate. The type and cost of an abortion can depend on how far along the pregnancy is and your health history.

    • If your pregnancy is viable: An ultrasound is the only way to confirm that a pregnancy is progressing. Research shows that up to 25% of pregnancies do not continue, and some miscarriages go unnoticed until discovered on an ultrasound. If a miscarriage is identified, medical follow-up is necessary to protect your health.

We’re here to help you understand your options and take the next step with clarity and care.

Our services are offered at no cost, and nothing will be billed to your insurance.

Your ultrasound results are kept completely confidential. Our goal is to support you as you explore your options in a respectful and private setting.

If you are experiencing symptoms such as bleeding, cramping, or spotting, it’s important to seek medical attention right away. These could be signs of a miscarriage and may require follow-up care.
