Common Abortion FAQs

Did You Know?
  • About 1 in 5 pregnancies end in miscarriage,1 which means a positive pregnancy test doesn’t always confirm a continuing pregnancy. The only way to verify if your pregnancy is developing is through an ultrasound. We offer free ultrasounds to check for viability and provide accurate information.

  • The FDA has approved the abortion pill for use only through 10 weeks of pregnancy.2 To know whether this option is medically appropriate, it’s important to have your pregnancy accurately dated through an ultrasound.

  • Using your last menstrual period to estimate how far along you are may not be reliable. A viability ultrasound performed by trained medical professionals offers the most accurate way to determine gestational age and reduce the risk of an incomplete abortion.3
  • No one—not a partner, parent, friend, or anyone else—can legally force you to have an abortion. Whether the pressure is subtle or direct, the decision about your pregnancy belongs to you. If you're feeling uncertain or unsupported, you have the right to explore all of your options without fear or coercion.

If you're concerned about being pressured, contact us and let's talk about it.

If you are in immediate danger or fear for your safety, please call 911.

  • Before deciding on an abortion, it’s important to have an ultrasound. This scan can help determine:

    • If your pregnancy is progressing. The type of abortion available to you depends on how far along you are and your health history.

    • If your pregnancy is viable. Not all pregnancies continue. Medical studies show that as many as 25% end naturally. Some women only learn about a miscarriage through an ultrasound. If this happens, follow-up medical care is needed.

We provide limited ultrasounds to give you the information you need to make a fully informed decision.

  • Abortion costs vary based on how far along you are and the method used. Procedures can cost several hundred to several thousand dollars. Before you move forward, knowing how far along your pregnancy is is essential—this can be confirmed with a free limited, non-diagnostic ultrasound from our center.

Please note that while we do not perform or refer for abortion services, we are here to provide information and support in a safe, judgment-free environment.

  • We provide limited, non-diagnostic ultrasounds to confirm whether a pregnancy is located in the uterus and how far along it is. Since we are a nonprofit organization supported by the community, we do not profit from your choices or decisions.

    Your privacy is our priority.

If you are experiencing symptoms like bleeding or severe cramping, seek immediate medical care. These may be signs of miscarriage and require professional medical attention.
